F*cking Flash Player 10
You writing "flashplayer ( latest )"... thats your problem. It released few days ago and broke hundreds of websites! Security risks on interactions with javascript made adobe go this way.
I hope for a cute solution here. SWFU is fine and I want to use it in future.
No using flashplayer 9.0.124.0
No, Im using flashplayer 9.0,124,0
installed maybe 10 days ago
from adobe website.
Also according to website it says
local file i/o enabled.
Let me be clear
Let me be clear Im using flashplayer 9.0,124,0
probably the last version before they switched
to flash 10.0.12.36.
They must have done something to this last
final version of flash 9.
Before doing a fresh reinstall of windows
I even downloaded flash 8 developer version
from adobe website and that didnt
work as well.
Hi, The is another simple
Hi,
The is another simple solution. Use TWG Flash Uploader from www.tinywebgallery.com. Because there the browser windows is not opened by Javascript but by the flash directly this flash does not have any problems after updating to flash 10.

It only affects Windows so far: swf Exception Error #2176
swf Exception Error #2176
We started seeing this error in the last 24 hours or so... this is happens in the SWFUpload debug dialog box at the bottom of the page when you click the button to summon the "select files" dialog box. It seems to be only affecting Windows users so far.
According to: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AS3LCR/Flash_10.0/runtimeErrors.html
that error is:
2176 Certain actions, such as those that display a pop-up window, may only be invoked upon user interaction, for example by a mouse click or button press.
Flash 10
Flash 10 has broken SWFUpload v2.1.0 and earlier.
Version 2.2.0 is nearing a beta release which addresses this issue.
How soon will that be?
We were just about to launch a site using it but then I upgraded at random to Flash 10 and the above problem showed up. Now, I'm stuck trying to decide if I have to rip everything out and use some simple JQuery plugin or if I just need to hold on...
Are we talking days, weeks, or months?
Day
We are talking days for the demo package. Probably today in fact.
Error #2176 ...
Hi,
Before starting with my complaints - thank you very much for your hard work !!!
I got the same error:
[In the debug window when in debugging mode]: SWF DEBUG: Exception: Error: Error #2176
Are there any news concerning the new release or some other work around for "Error #2176"?
It took me a _really long time_ to finally make SWFUpload work with authentication and everything from the inside of a Zend Framework based site - and now it only seems to work on my linux host
If SWFUpload would continue to work it really would be a nice patch for the limited html upload functionality. I was asked to implement an upload page for files up to 1G - which seems to be of impossible with html alone...
With greetings and best wishes
Dietrich
Hi again, I just found
Hi again,
I just found version v2.2.0.Beta3 at
http://code.google.com/p/swfupload/downloads/list
and I am currently using: swfupload.js:SWFUpload.version = "2.1.0";
Will give it a try next week
Thanks again, Dietrich
