Disclosure: I'm on SuSe 11.1 using Firefox

The browser is hanging on transferring a large file (2G). I expected behaviour where the browser would continue to function and I would receive progress updates. Would this have something to do with linux/firefox combination?

Forgot to mention.... the upload DOES complete and the browser becomes functional once again.
